What a Wonderful Website! I'm a decendant of the Wallace and Modlin families of New Castle, IN. I have found so much information for my family history work. Until I found this site it has been so difficult for me because I was born and raised away from these ansestrial roots. Edward Eugene (Gene) Wallace buried in St. Anne's Cem. is my Grandfather. I know that my Great Uncle Joe and his wife are buried there, and I know my Great Grand Parents are there as well. I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who was involved in the repair and restoration of my ancestor's grave site after it was hit by an automobile in June. I just found out about it from another cousin. I have never been to Indiana, but have been as far as Iowa last autumn. I hope to go there some day soon, and maybe for the dedication ceremony in November if possible. I just want to say that it touches my heart very deeply to have such wonderful people watching over my 5th great grandparents' stone while I am clear across the country in Olympia, Washington. He was a color sargent at Yorktown and stood 30 steps from General Washington when Cornwallis surrendered his sword. His service to this country means a lot to me and I am so grateful it means so much to other citizens as well. I am a descendant of his son Reuben.
