This cemetery is located in blue River Township in Henry County, IN, in section #33 about ¼ mile west of the Henry/Wayne county line on CR #200N. The land was purchased in 1822 by the Cory family; Abraham, Eleanor, Betsy, David and Mary. With the death of Eleanor, 1st wife of Abraham Cory, in the early 1820s the Cory family set a side the land for a burial ground. Over the years it was used as a neighbor hood cemetery by nearby families. After the opening of the Mooreland cemetery in the 1890s there were very few burials in this cemetery. The cemetery was abandoned for many years and became completely overgrown,    In 1975 the Manifold family of Mooreland cleared away the brush and vegetation and repaired and reset many stones, installed a new fence and cleaned the fencerows. This last year (2003) the Henry County Cemetery Commission led a cleanup project and cleared the cemetery of the overgrowth and rank vegetation once again.    There have been five recent burials in the old cemetery since 1987, the last burial occurring in 2001. There are several family descendants of Cory, Main and some of the other families still living in the Mooreland neighborhood.    This cemetery was recorded in 1982 by Thomas Hamm and later published by the Henry County Historical Society and updated in 2004.
