This old cemetery, one of the oldest in Henry County, located on the south edge of the town of Greensboro on the Greensboro Pike in section #35 of Greensboro Township, was established on 18 Mar 1825 when John Wickersham donated 5 acres of land to John Copeland, Rice Price and Jacob Woods duly elected trustees of the Friends church known as the "Duck Creek" branch of Friends.    Over the years the Friends church has maintained it, but in the last few years it has received very little upkeep, other than the frequent mowing and cleanups. The old cemetery has seen its share of vandalism over the years. In August of 2002 many stones were overturned and broken by twp teenage vandals causing thousands of dollars in damage (See: http://www.hcgs.net/greensbororepair.html) which was repaired by several volunteers along with the efforts of the Henry County, IN Sheriff's Department and the community service worker volunteers.    R. Thomas Mayhill originally recorded this cemetery in 1968 when he was recording cemeteries of Henry County, IN. I returned to the cemetery in October of 2002 and attempted to update the latest burials in this cemetery. There have been very few burials in recent years, the latest being in 2003. Being a Quaker burial ground, there will be numerous unmarked burials in this old cemetery.    The cemetery was being used for a dump up until a couple of years ago. And being completely ignored, over the last couple of years it has been receiving regular maintenance and some stone repair and resetting work from members of the Henry County Cemetery Commission (See: http://www.hcgs.net/hccc/youthdayofcaring2005.html)
