The cemetery was found to be in fairly good condition considering it had been two years since the last cleanup. We started at 9:00 am and by12:00 we were finished.
There were a few briars and such that needed to be cut, leaves to rake and minor trimming. The last cleanup took out all of the major over-growth, and overall it looks good. As you can see, all of the stones need to be uncovered and reset. A huge job is ahead of us on this one.
Thanks to Henry County Sheriff's Deputy Ken King and his crew of community service workers, we only needed about three hours to clean up the leaves and such.
The other volunteers who showed up were; Henry County Cemetery Commission President, Donna Tauber, Cemetery Commissioner Anne Holmes, Ken Holmes, Ed Hager, Larry Gordon, Steve Bush, Aaron Bush, John Bush (the little guy) and Bud Bush.
Everyone pitched in and went to work and in no time at all it was finished for this day.
