Perceive & Connect: June 14 – July 26, 2009 Three artists chosen from Berkeley Art Center’s annual members showcase engage in a unique dialogue here in Perceive & Connect. Photographs by Katie Baum evoke the feeling of chasing childhood memories during adulthood, offering a collection of beautiful and evocative images. The provocative and skillfully executed sculptures of Jeanine Briggs are the result of collecting, exploring, and experimenting with forms and materials. Indira Martina Morre presents contemplative paintings, layering emotional states and exploring the beauty of geometric structure. Baum, Briggs, and Morre create compelling work in divergent media, interpreting the world in memorable ways through individual, and deeply felt perspectives. |
