RTMA Leading the Way to Business Success

RTMA GOALS
Current chapter goals focus upon growth of chapter membership and increased enrollments in the Apprenticeship Training Program. The Rockford area has been hard hit in recent years by depressed economic conditions; we are looking forward to renewed growth through new technology and increased productivity. Accomplishing these changes will require a large number of trained craftsmen, re-educated business owners, and organized participation in the legislative process. The Rockford Chapter of the NTMA expects to play a major part in helping Rockford firms meet these challenges.

PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS CONDUCT
The members of the National Tooling and Machining Association pledge themselves to observe the following “Principles of Business Conduct":
• Quote only realistic delivery promises, and meet all delivery dates unless the customer’s delays or changes make it impractical.
• Hold in confidence the designs and manufacturing procedures for
special tooling and precision machining unless the customer releases the company from this obligation.
• Deliver special tooling and precision machining to the specifications and quality agreed upon.
• Base quotations on a full knowledge of costs and all elements affecting the performance of the job. Realize that without this knowledge, a profitable business cannot long exist.
• Refrain from misrepresenting the company’s operations and capabilities and from unduly influencing the placement of business.
• Avoid wrongfully discrediting the equipment, product, methods,
personnel, or credit standing of a competitor.
• Refrain from enticing away the employees of others through misleading advertising or otherwise.
• Accept responsibility for apprentice training to provide a reasonable number of skilled employees.
• Use fair purchasing methods in dealing with suppliers.
• Treat all employees equitably in all respects, including payment of fair wages and supplemental benefits, and maintenance of safe and sanitary working conditions.
